William Matzhold (he/him), a Vancouver BC based actor, discovered his love for film at a young age. Though film was his escape through troubled times in his childhood, it wouldn’t be until his early twenties that he would truly find his identity. 23 jobs later, a classic busted knee athlete story, and countless ventures explored and failed, he finally found his true love of acting. From there things took off, and he passionately refined his craft over the next seven years through dedicated training at renowned local studios in Vancouver. During this time, he fell in love with the art of storytelling as a whole and dove deeper into film in all aspects.

His television journey includes appearances on the well known series Superman & Lois, Charmed, and Arrow (The CW). On the film front, Matzhold has begun to make his mark with credits in productions Dying to Belong and Girl in Room 13 (Lifetime).

Beyond his on-camera endeavours, William remains an active and engaged member of the local film community, aiming to grow his own production company, 73 Filmworks. Throughout his years of training, he also explored writing, directing, and producing, and learned to pick up a camera himself to film multiple short films, music videos, and small commercial projects to gain a further understanding of filmmaking.

“Acting literally saved my life. If I hadn’t discovered this craft, I honestly couldn’t tell you where I’d be.” As the art of acting was a beacon of hope for William, he strives to grow as an overall artist and hopes that one day his work can affect and inspire some kid the way the actors and filmmakers did for him. “That opportunity may never come, so make it.”
