Shendrita Ajvazi

Shendrita Ajvazi was born in Gjilan, Kosovo. She is an Albanian-Canadian actress who immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in 1999 during the war in Yugoslavia as a refugee. Shendrita, her parents and her three siblings lived in Toronto for a few years then later moved to St. Catharines, Ontario.

Shendrita discovered her love for acting in elementary drama class. She continued to participate in school plays and drama improv competitions. In highschool, her time was strictly divided between academics, sports and acting. Her ability to commit to all three led her towards the career path she dreamed for. Shendrita graduated high school with academic awards as well as theatre and sports, and was her class valedictorian.

In 2013, Shendrita was the lead in a play and achieved an award of excellence for the portrayal of her character in the Sears Drama Festival. Her cast and crew also received an ensemble award for the physical work in the production “Broken”. She attended Niagara College on an academic scholarship where she graduated from the Acting for Film and Television Program. During her time at Niagara College she played varsity soccer and basketball. Upon graduation, Shendrita moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she currently resides, to further pursue her acting career. She is known for her work in the film Fight! (2018)

In Shendrita’s spare time she trains Muay Thai at a local Martial Arts gym with professional trainers from Thailand and trainers who compete in world wide competitions. Shendrita regularly plays soccer in a local women’s Division 1 team as well as in the Queer Vancouver Soccer League. Shendrita continues to work on her craft with acting coaches and workshops in Vancouver. Her most recent interest is getting back into the improv room!
