Ryota Kaneko

Ryota Kaneko (he/him) is a Totonto-based performer who is originally from Tokyo, Japan. He is a graduate of the Triple Threat Musical Theatre Program at Randolph College for the Performing Arts. He has also graduated from Hosei University in Japan where he took Media Arts course and studied film making in his seminar, and went to San Diego State University for a year under an internship scholarship program where he studied Performing Arts during his university career.

After graduating, Ryota has been working professionally. Credit includes Throughly Modern Millie and Anything Goes in Drayton Entertainment and Lysander in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Most recently, he had a recurring role on upcoming Netflix series The Age of Samurai where he not only played one of the fearless warriors and a lord in Japanese history, he has also shown his skills as a translator during the production.

Other than performing and improving his skills, Ryota enjoys going to the gym a lot, eating a lot, and sleeping a lot. He also loves a good nature hikes, hot summer days, and sunflowers.

Ryota is fortunate to have the family and friends he has here in Toronto and back home in Tokyo, and he cannot wait for more exciting news to come in the future and be the ray of light.
