Peter Mundell is a transmasculine and genderqueer performer originally from the small community of Millgrove, Ontario. From the age of 6, Peter grew up taking music lessons, achieving his Grade Seven in piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music and playing jazz trumpet for the Hamilton Rising Stars Jazz Band. During high school, they took part in Hamilton-Wentworth and Theatre Ancaster’s ArtSmart musical theatre co-op program. Peter has attended St. Clair College’s Musical Theatre Performance program and George Brown College’s American Sign Language and Deaf Studies program.

Some of his credits since graduation include Urinetown (We Are Here Productions), Mary Poppins, Newsies (Lower Ossington Theatre), Boys Don’t Cry (Basement Productions), The Pansy Craze (Next Stop Productions, winner of Gay Theatre Toronto’s LGBTQ Fringe Award), A Canticle of Light (Missed Metaphor Productions), and Carrie: The Musical (Hart House Theatre).

Outside of theatre, Peter enjoys hanging out with their cat, Tink, playing Dungeons & Dragons, attending rallies, and advocating for trans youth. He spends much of his time on social media educating people about his experiences as a transgender individual in the performing arts. They are also a member of the Ring of Keys network, a community of queer women, trans and non-binary artists working on and off stage in musical theatre.
