Marlee Young is a passionate and creative performer in the arts, born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. She began dancing at The Dance Corps located in Mississauga at the age of 2, and has not stopped since. At the age of 7, Marlee started in her studio’s competitive dance program and is trained in Acro, Tumbling, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Improv, Ballroom, Partnerwork, and more. She shadowed as a dance teacher at her home studio to allow young children to find the same passion in dance as she did at a young age.

Throughout Marlee’s competitive dance career, she was able to accumulate many awards that highlight her accomplishments. Marlee has won regional titles, such as Teen Miss Starpower 2019 and 2nd runner-up at Starpower Nationals in 2016 and 2018. Marlee furthered her dance career by attending the National Ballet School of Canada’s summer intensive, which led to her acceptance into their institution (2013), and Alvin Ailey’s summer intensive in New York City (2019).

Marlee has been featured on numerous television shows for her dancing/acting, including “Rookie Blue” (2015) and “The Next Step”. She has starred as a hand model for Plan Canada (2017), Volvo commercial (2017), and an “American Express” commercial with world-renown choreographer Tanisha Scott (2018). She also had the privilege of performing as a dancer in the Teddy Bear Affair Gala hosted in Toronto, Ontario, in 2018 – a children’s aid fundraiser.

Marlee graduated from her studio in 2020 and has continued to train at The Dance Corps to keep growing as a dancer. She currently attends Carleton University and was recruited to their dance program to broaden her horizons as a choreographer and dancer in a different setting.

Marlee currently dances competitively and wishes to teach again in the near future to gain knowledge and aid kids in finding their passion. As an artist, Marlee strives for the very best version of herself and is always thrilled to reach new goals and gain more experiences.
