Marianne Kanaan

Marianne (she/her) is an individual who strives to always be her best self. Marianne has been dancing for about 18 years now. She began her dance journey in ballet classes at the age of 2. Along with ballet, Marianne eventually started diving into other styles like jazz funk, hip hop, dancehall and contemporary, training at the Sharmila Dance Company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Marianne moved to Toronto in 2013. She then started off at All That Dance where she competed part-time, training with Dwayne “Boneless” Gulston. Later on, she began training with OIP Dance Company from 2014-2016. Throughout her time at OIP Dance Company, Marianne worked with many choreographers in Toronto such as, Danny Davalos, Angela Mahoney Jones, Mitchell Piquette Jackson, Derek Piquette Jackson, Dominic Cooper-Clarke, Derick “Xclusiv” Robinson, Kayann Ward, Chris Clarke, and many more. Marianne has also trained with Shavar Blackwood for a little while, in his company Eye Candy, as well as Lineen Doung at Dark Dance company. Marianne has also done numerous stage performances at Fever After Dark, Choreographer’s Ball, and The Industry Night.

Marianne’s passion and interest for dancing alongside artists started to progress once she participated in music videos for Canadian artists such as TOBi, rIVerse, The Hope State, and Jasmine Kiara. Marianne soon became active in the TV/film industry. In 2019, she worked on the Hulu series ‘Utopia Falls’ with Tanisha Scott and Amanda May Wilson, as a member of the skeleton crew. Later on in 2019, she also danced in the Netflix Series ‘Grand Army’ also choreographed by Tanisha Scott and Amanda May Wilson. Marianne will also be seen dancing in an upcoming Disney movie.

Marianne is only eager for what’s in store for her future as a thriving artist.
