Kryslyne-Mai Ancheta

CAEA

Kryslyne is a Toronto-based Singer/Actor who began her love of music with guitar. Her musical journey started at 12 years old exploring genres of Blues, Jazz and Rock on electric guitar.
Growing up in Etobicoke, Kryslyne attended Father John Redmond CSS and was accepted into the Vocal Performance Arts Program.
Continuing her studies in choral jazz and classical repertoire, she also participated in both of her school’s musicals. She then further joined Toronto Youth Theatre’s production of 13 The Musical, along with Randolph’s Pre-College to workshop and perform a new Canadian Musical.

Deciding to further focus on classical voice performance, Kryslyne found herself indulging in the music of Mozart, Handel, and Purcell. Spending two years in the York University Choir, she also participated in the Choir’s New York City debut at Carnegie Hall to perform the Faure Requiem. As she has finished her Undergraduate Music Performance Degree at York University, she aims to continue her classical voice training while also enjoying her first love, musical theatre.

With adoration of original work, Kryslyne is an active member within musicals during the Fringe Festivals and hopes to inspire and challenge the norms of Musical Theatre.

A few notable works include Kendra in 13 The Musical, Annie in Annie, Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, Jaime in One Small Step, Deirdre in Be Kind Rewind, Natalie Goodman in Next to Normal and Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Kryslyne is excited to continue her artistic journey with DaCosta and is looking forward towards taking on opportunities headed her way.
