Kevin Tookey

Born into a dance family and raised in a dance studio, Kevin still can’t figure out why he never made the NHL. While his hockey resume is short, his career in dance spans the globe as an Artist, Teacher, Director and Choreographer. For over two decades, Kevin has worked professionally in nearly every genre of entertainment.

His company credits include Chu This, Jazz Dance America, Carolina Ballet, Ontario Ballet Theatre, Ballet North, Fusion Dance Company, The Helix Dance Project, Move – the Company, Cherice Barton, Still Motion Dance (at Jacob’s Pillow), The Response Dance, and Joe Ink.

Kevin’s television and industrial credits include So You Think You Can Dance Canada (Asst. Director National Tour), Once Upon a Time, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Magicians, Hellcats, Cirque Du Soleil, Dizzy Feet Gala (LA), Porsche, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Wells Fargo, A.P.E.C, Nintendo, General Motors, Volkswagen, Expo 2010, 2010 Olympics, Disney and Tokyo Disney.

Some of Kevin’s film credits include Twilight – Breaking Dawn, Reefer Madness, Freaky Friday, Dudley Do-Right and Hot Rod.

As he transitions from performer to educator, Kevin can be seen lending his expertise to some of Canada’s largest competitions, conventions and festivals. His creativity, dedication and expertise keep him in demand as a Rehearsal Director and Adjudicator across the country.

When he isn’t on stage or dreaming about hockey, Kevin can be found in his workshop pursuing his other love: designing and building custom, solid wood furniture. His company www.spudworks.ca is based out of Coquitlam, BC.
