Kaela Willey (she/they) is a Chinese-Canadian dance artist, emerging choreographer and actor based in Tkaronto. Her personal artistic practice explores trauma healing, intersectional feminism, bi-racial and Asian identity, social justice and activism, and curiosity for life’s meaning.

She has danced with companies Coastal City Ballet, Ballet Victoria, Xing Dance Theatre, Ballet Ouest de Montreal, Wondersee Entertainment/Cineplex, the Canadian Opera Company, Nova Dance and Chimera Project. Kaela has also performed works and collaborated with individual artists Sze-Yang Ade-Lam, Nomi Wiersma and Tara Butler.

Offstage, Kaela expands her artistry into modelling, film and television. She has modelled on a cover and twelve-page spread for Culture Magazin, and has appeared in several print and film commercials. She has performed in episodes of Star Trek: Discovery and American Gods, and films Dancing Through the Shadow and New Monuments.
