Evan Morash

UBCP/ACTRA

Evan is originally from Calgary, Alberta. His passion for dance was discovered at a very young age and he has dedicated his life to training since he was 5 years old. Growing up as a competitive studio dancer, as well as training with The Young Canadians under the direction of Brian Foley, has given him the opportunity to excel in all dance styles and has made him a well rounded dancer and stage performer. Evan has attained his Advanced 1 RAD Ballet certification, as well as his Pre-Advanced Jazz ADAPT certification. During his grade 12 year, Evan had his first professional job, and was a dancer for the opening performance with Alessia Cara at the 2016 JUNO Canadian Music Awards, which solidified his dreams and passion of pursuing a career as a commercial dancer.

Since moving to Vancouver, Evan has continued to train in all styles, working to become as versatile of a performer as possible. Evan’s adaptability and versatility are what makes him standout from the crowd and easy to work with. Evan had the privilege of being a dancer for an Emmy Award Winning number for an episode of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, with choreographers Mandy Moore, Jillian Meyers and Jeff Mortensen. Some of his other television/film credits include The CW’s Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, National Geographic’s Valley of the Boom, ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and more.

Most recently, Evan has worked on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines as a dancer. He first started with the company when he was hired as a takeout cast member for RCCL’s newest ship, Spectrum of the seas in 2019. As the first cast for a new ship, Evan loved how hands on and collaborative his experience was while creating the show. Despite not having any previous Aerial training, Evan was promoted to be the Aerial Captain of his cast, which allowed him not only to expand and grow his aerial skills, but to work on his leadership and team management skills as well. Since 2019, he has worked 3 contracts with Royal Caribbean, performing for audiences across the globe, working most recently on RCCL’s newest ship, Odyssey of the seas as a takeout cast member.

As a dancer, Evan has been shaped by some incredible mentors he’s had throughout the years. Choreographers such as Sarah Dolan, Kelly Konno, and Tyce Diorio have had an important impact on Evan and the artist and person he is today. Evan has worked closely with Tyce, assisting him at Radix Nationals Dance Convention, as well as being a part of the skeleton crew for his work on So You Think You Can Dance. Evan is no stranger to assisting choreographers and knowing what it takes behind the scenes, as he has spent multiple seasons touring as an assistant with Triple Threat Dance Convention. Over the years, Evan has worked with and assisted industry professionals such as Megan Lawson, Jillian Meyers, Luther Brown, Sean Cheeseman, Christian Vincent, Tovaris Wilson, Nick Lanzisera and more.
