Brittany Miranda

Non Union

Hailing from Newmarket, Ontario, Brittany first stumbled into musical theatre in high school when she auditioned for the local production of High School Musical and was shocked to learn she had landed the role of Gabriella. Under the guidance of teachers such as Lezlie Wade and vocal coach Yoriko Tanno-Kimmons, Brittany continued to grow her artistic voice and chose to study acting at the University of Toronto and Sheridan’s joint theatre program (TDS). After graduating, she immersed herself in every aspect of theatre possible, and beyond acting, she gained experience in directing, recording, devised theatre, dramaturgy and producing.

Known for her big voice, chipper personality, crazy curly hair and incredible work ethic, Brittany enthusiastically continues to cultivate her artistic career and spread joy through her art. Some of her most memorable roles include Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Alice in Alice and Wonderland, Alysha in American Idiot, Margaret in Carrie: the Musical, and Tracey/Raju in Rukmini’s Gold. She also was the featured vocalist for Imajjine’s jazz recording of Serenity in Blue. During the pandemic, Brittany was performing in Education Arts’ Strange New Days, a new virtual musical exploring mental health and coping strategies during these unprecedented times. She also created a personalized song and story experience for elders in long-term care, with support from The Musical Stage Company’s Musical Moments initiative.

In her spare time, Brittany can be found spending time with her family, singing nonstop to her cat and husband, playing video/board games with friends and curling up with a nice cup of tea.
