Tim Porter is a proud client of da Costa Talent Management, and a proud member of the musical theatre community. Originally from the town of Tweed, Ontario, Tim attended St. Lawrence College Musical Theatre Performance Program where he graduated with distinction, winning two scholarships, and the Triple Threat Performance award. While at St. Lawrence he played such parts as Lumiere in ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Billy Flynn in ‘Chicago’, and Don in ‘A Chorus Line’.

Since graduating Tim has worked in all facets of theatre across the country. Recent Credits include playing Fake Shemp and Spirit of Knowby in ‘Evil Dead the Musical’, where he also understudied the roles of Ed and Scott, the later of which he played for a month. Tim has also toured the Country from St. John’s to Vancouver for the past two years as Rooney Doodle in ‘The Doodlebops: Together Forever Tour’, as well as all the dancing for Rooney in the brand new CBC cartoon version. Tim spent the past two summers with Drayton Entertainment in ‘High School Musical’ playing the role of James, and having a blast!

Tim has also spent six seasons with the Stirling Festival Theatre, playing such roles as Earl the Mailman in ‘Anne of Green Gables’, Noah Claypole in ‘Oliver’, Starkey in ‘Peter Pan’, and Will Scarlet in ‘Robin Hood: The Pandemonium Packed Panto’. Tim has also enjoyed writing and directing for the Stirling Festival Young Company, and last year was the recipient of the SFT professional scholarship.
In the fall of 2007 Tim founded IANA Theatre Company, a small group dedicated to the production of quality Canadian Musical Theatre. Now a thriving organization, IANA continues to go strong with it’s upcoming 2011 season. Check it out at www.ianatheatre.com .

In addition to performing, Tim enjoys reading, writing, cycling, roller blading, playing guitar and carpentry. Tim is also currently learning French.
