S.A.M. (nicknamed from her initials) is a dancer, yogi, adventurer and lover of life. She grew up in Winnipeg where she spent most of her childhood making up dances in her basement and forcing her younger brother to wear tutus and test out her choreography. She received many ballet, theatre dance and overall competition scholarships and trained on scholarship at Edge Performing Arts Centre in LA. Sam graduated from the University of MB with a BSc in Mathematics and Zoology then moved to Toronto to pursue a career in performing.

Sam has toured and performed in musicals such as Mary Poppins, West Side Story, Chicago, and Guys and Dolls, and appeared in films including Shall We Dance and One Last Dance. She was drawn to yoga and Pilates as supplements to her dance training and fell in love with their healing benefits. Sam traveled to India to complete her first Hatha yoga teacher training in 2011 and since then has added Vinyasa, Anusara, Yin, Restorative and Trance Dance trainings to her kit. She is a also a certified Stott Pilates Mat instructor and Reformer trainer.

Sam is the creator of the Lifestyle Pass, a passport which encourages and supports healthy living in Winnipeg. In 2011, the Lifestyle Pass raised $15,000 for Free the Children’s Adopt a Village program in Kenya. Her interest in supporting human development inspired her to pursue life coach training with CoachU, enneagram studies with the Enneagram Institute in NY and Healing Touch courses.

Sam loves traveling and learning from different cultures. She has spent time in Africa – teaching yoga in Morocco and volunteering in Ghana; explored spirituality and visited temples in SE Asia; lived in a yoga ashram; and spent 10 days practicing silent meditation in Malaysia. Sam is passionate about living life to it’s fullest with a joyful heart and inspiring others to do the same.
