“Peter Cumins makes a golden-voiced, charmingly caddish Warner.”
– Colin Thomas/ Georgia Straight

Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Peter moved to London at the age of 17 to pursue his dream of a career as a performer. Not long after arriving, Peter met vocal coaches to the stars David and Carrie Grant who have worked with everyone from the Spice Girls to Gwyneth Paltrow. Peter appeared as David and Carrie’s vocal student in their DVD You Can Sing for Carlton Television, an instructional DVD for budding young singers which also featured Spice Girl Mel C. Thanks to their expert knowledge on every aspect of the music industry, Peter finally teamed up with Terry Ronald to write his debut album. This endeavor started a year long journey which took a 20 year old Peter, along with Terry, to Sweden to work with some of the best writers and producers of pop music in the world. After Peter’s song Takes My Life became the number one most requested song on Perth radio station Groove.FM, Peter returned home to Western Australia to release his debut single.

At the age of 21, Peter decided to follow his passion for theatre and attend London, England’s prestigious Arts Educational School where he studied for 3 years and received a Bachelor in Musical Theatre. After graduating, Peter appeared as the Prince in the pantomime Beauty and the Beast and as Edith in the critically acclaimed all male production of The Pirates of Penzance. For the past 2 years, Peter has been working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a featured singer in their production shows onboard some of the most impressive ships in the world. Not only has this allowed him to perform to thousands of people a night, but also to travel the world.

Since arriving in Vancouver, Peter has appeared as Warner in Theatre Under the Stars’ production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. He recently played Robertson Ay in the Citadel/ Theatre Calgary production of Mary Poppins, choreographed by Lisa Stevens and directed by Michael Shamata. Catch Peter this summer as he returns to play Warner in TUTS’ remount of Legally Blonde!
