Naomi Yamato

Naomi Yamato was born in Hakodate, Japan. After high school, she moved to Sapporo and pursued a career as a TV reporter where she was on The Morning Show for Hokkaido Television as a weather reporter every weekday for five years. During this time she made over a thousand live television appearances. Naomi also built experience with both radio and video commercials, event MCing, and various narrations for corporate programs and promotional videos.

In 1991, Naomi moved to Vancouver, Canada to study English, and spent years as an MC for events in Japanese and English, and as a singer for independent films, voice over and narration. Naomi also made an appearance as a stand up comic at the renowned comedy club Yuk Yuk’s in Vancouver, and made her acting debut on the AppleTV+ dramatic series Pachinko as a recurring Japanese TV reporter.
