CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance

“A small city boy with big city dreams…”

A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Moses Asher Christen now trains and resides between Vancouver and Toronto. He is trained in all styles of dance with a forte in contemporary, jazz, and hip hop.

Moses started dance at the age of 19 after being approached by a faculty member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He was asked about his training after performing in a variety show called “Come As You Aren’t” where he mocked Julia Stiles’ audition performance from the movie “Save The Last Dance.” At the time he was on scholarship studying pre-professional law at the University of Winnipeg. Moses soon put his studies and scholarship on hold to pursue a risky dream- even though he lacked support from family and friends. He was quick study and was called a prodigy by several instructors. The decision to choose between his academics and the entertainment world was a struggle, but he never regretted the decision as his passion for the arts and the industry grew. He continues to inspire others by encouraging everyone that “it’s never too late to start.”

Moses has worked and trained closely with some of the most influential and sought after entertainers and choreographers in the business. He was one of Canada’s top 22 dancers in the final season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Despite injuring himself before the competition started, it only fueled the fire within.

Moses has worked in such films as Nickelodeon’s Spectacular!, Ragz, The Good Life, and hit TV shows such as ABC’s Once Upon A Time, CW’s Hellcats, and HBO’s The L Word. He also danced and tumbled his way on board the Freedom of the Seas with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, the Pacific National Exhibition, and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games with Lululemon and Budweiser. He has worked closely with several Canadian recording artists such as Elise Estrada, The Next Star’s Brock Zanrosso, and had an amazing opportunity to perform in his home town at the MTS Centre at the APMC Awards with artist Inez Jasper. On top of it all, he had the opportunity of a lifetime working with Cirque Du Soleil choreographer Massimo Agostinelli on his National Pride project “One Life”, which was truly a life changing experience for Moses.

Moses completed a year with one of Vancouver’s most established companies, The Source Dance Co under director Joanne Pesusich. He always continues to train in all facets of the arts, as he believes you can never stop growing and learning as an artist. Most recently, he finished working with choreographer Eryn Waltman and the company Conteur on the much anticipated show “State of Mind” in Toronto.
