“Mohammed has a unique voice & presence birthed of his exceptional life experience. His art draws from this deep & complex well, illuminating a breadth, honesty & compassion beyond his years.”

Performing has always been an outlet for Mohammed. Being born in the small city of Victoria, he was always keen for any opportunity and challenge that was brought to the table. With pure optimism and curiosity for the arts, Mohammed started dancing at the age of 9 with his middle school dance programs.

In high school, Mohammed became a devoted member of Victoria High School’s dance troupe where he cross-trained in contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop, and won multiple awards. In addition to dance, Mohammed added acting and singing to his repertoire by joining the school’s improv team, and being cast as Danny Zuko in Grease, and Larry in A Chorus Line.

Mohammed joined Team Canada after graduation, and competed at the International Dance competition in Italy. In 2013, he became a part of Vibestreet Dance Studio, training under Jerome Esplana, Alo Galedo, Scott Forsyth, and Roberta Bierman. The experience of training and competing internationally equipped Mohammed with the discipline, focus, and drive to teach at Vibestreet, Raino Dance, and to choreograph for local artists in Victoria. He has also played the lead role of Rumi in the short film Young Rumi.

Despite all of his success, Mohammed is dedicated to giving back to his high school dance program by annually creating and directing pieces for the students.

After moving to Vancouver in September 2017, Mohammed auditioned for, and currently dances with, TwoFourSeven Company under the direction of acclaimed choreographers, Carlo Atienza and Roberta Bierman. Mohammed is a brave and dedicated individual. His contagious positivity creates a nurturing and progressive environment that fosters growth for his peers and himself. Mohammed is so excited to take on the opportunities that are to be presented in the near future, and is looking forward to seeking out new endeavours.
