Megan Caines

Megan Caines (she/her) is a passionate performer born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She found her love for dance at Vlad’s Dance Company at the age of 13, where she began to grow and evolve into the artist she is today. Prior to dance, Megan had her sights on the 2016 Olympics for gymnastics. She trained 6 hours each day at Sports Seneca and won numerous awards at the national level on beam, bars, floor and vault. After a summer intensive at Vlad’s Dance Company, Megan quickly realized dancing was her life and she spent day after day training to perfect her technique and grow into a professional performer. This award winning artist excels in many different areas including ballet, pointe, jazz, acrobatics, partnering, contemporary, hip hop, ballroom, modern, freestyle, tumbling, choreography, musical theatre, acting, singing and modelling.

Megan has won numerous awards as a soloist and duet partner including 1st – Runner up Senior Soloist at The Dance Awards in Florida and was also asked to represent Dancer Palooza as a member of the “2017 & 2018 Beat Squad” in Los Angeles. She was also awarded the “Jean A. Chalmers Theatre Training Award” during her season at the Stratford Festival in 2018.

Megan has also been featured as an Actress/Dancer/Singer in many television shows such as Family Channel’s “The Next Step”, Disney Channel’s “Backstage”, “Degrassi”, “Star Trek”, Hallmark’s Movie – “Magical Christmas Ornament”, Disney’s “Zombies 2” and also performed in a new Netflix Original “Ginny and Georgia”. Megan assisted award winning choreographer Mia Michaels while she was choreographing the Netflix Original “Feel The Beat” and was part of the Skeleton Crew for the Netflix Movie entitled “Let it Snow”. She also danced in a new music video called “Overfeel” by the singer Osé.

Megan also worked at The Stratford Festival and in those 10 months she starred Gracie Shinn in the “Music Man”, performed “The Shining People of Leonard Cohen” at the PAL Event, took part in “The Lab Track” and also worked on the “Romeo and Juliet Remix”. Megan performed 42 shows as a Dancer and Magician’s Assistant on “The Illusionists, Live from Broadway”. She has also performed in the past 11 shows with the professional dance company “Bridge to Artists”.

Megan has starred in many promotional events including “The Nut Cracker” for MAC Cosmetics as well as “Welcoming Spring” for the Eaton Centre. She also teaches and shares her knowledge with young dancers across Canada.

Megan continues to dance, act, sing and teach and is very excited and hungry to grow as an artist and reach new goals in this upcoming year.
