Matthieu Handfield
Actor, Dancer, Singer
“Practice like you’ve never won, perform like you’ve never lost.”
–Michael Jordan

Matthieu is not only a triple threat, but an immense thinker and observer that pays attention to the oddest most artistic detail. Born and raised in Montreal, his strong dance background and raw talent for the performing arts guided him to the stage and screen. With over 10 years of dance training in all styles (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, stomp, modern, ballroom) and 5 years of immense discipline from a professional ballet school (l’École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec), Matthieu’s professional artistic environment gave him the tools to reach the highest of his great potential. From winning national titles to getting scholarships to some of the most prestigious schools in the nation, he has achieved a great deal during his youth. His strong technical dance background quickly introduced him to the voice arts such as singing and speech diction, being trained by professionals from New York City, which eventually got him into acting.

Matthieu’s first professional contract as a singer, dancer and actor was with Montreal’s Just for Laughs production of Mary Poppins. He went on to being hired multiple times by Steve Bolton (choreographer of Mary Poppins) to dance on multiple french TV shows and projects such as ‘En direct de l’Univers de Céline Dion’ and ‘Les Dieux de la Danse’ produced in Montreal.

Very shortly after, he was hired by Toronto choreographers Roberto Campanella and Melissa (JJ) Moore for the American Hallmark Movie ‘A Nutcracker Christmas’ playing the role of Fritz. Currently perfecting his craft as a dancer and singer, he is now being trained as an actor by Anik Matern.
