– Ayn Rand

Lily McEvenue was born and raised in Owen Sound, Ontario until moving abroad to ballet school at the age of twelve. She studied at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada until the age of sixteen before transferring to Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. It was there that she began training in acting, singing, and musical theatre. She enriched her training through professional programs at the National Ballet School of Canada, The Juilliard School and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. After graduating high school, Lily danced for three seasons in the corps de ballets at Opera Atelier. She toured with them to the Royal Opera in Versailles, France, and to the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY.

Lily’s most notable stage credit was playing Victoria (the white cat) in th NuMu production of CATS, in Toronto. Other favourite credits include seasons with the Charlottetown Festival, Drayton Entertainment, and most recently the 2017-2018 seasons at the Stratford Festival (Guys and Dolls, HMS Pinafore, The Music Man.)

Outside of theatre, Lily is a certified Pilates instructor. During her two seasons at Stratford, Lily was awarded two Guthrie scholarships, and she used the funds to further her studies in Therapeutic Pilates and set up her own home studio space. Lily has a particular passion for using Pilates as a method of injury prevention and rehabilitation for performing artists. When she isn’t on stage, Lily enjoyes teaching from her home studio space, learning everything she can about anatomy and biomechanics, travelling abroad, spending time with family, and exploring the great outdoors.
