Leo Mates

Originally from the UK and now based in Toronto, Leo Mates (he/him) has worked in various film and theatre productions across Europe and Canada. His work has included The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Dunsinane, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and the Olivier award nominated Alice’s Adventures Underground.

A talented improviser, Leo trained at The Second City, Toronto, and Monkey Toast UK, a London-based improv school. He has performed on stage with many of the UK’s greatest comedic talent, including Steen Raskopoulos (Netflix’s Feel Good and The Duchess), and Paul Foxcroft (Ted Lasso).

Leo also wrote and performed his own one-man show, Orlando De-Bloomed, which played to sold-out audiences in both London and Manchester, UK. A frenetic comedy, the show was well received by both audiences and critics, with Mates’ acting and writing noted as particular highlights.
