Laura began dancing at the age of four and never looked back. For twelve years she was a competitive student at the Canadian Dance Company, where she trained in: jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, partner work, and pointe. She had the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top choreographers and travelled across the globe for conventions and competitions. Her time at CDC not only made her a technically trained dancer, but a disciplined performer.
She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with honours in dance from Toronto Metropolitan University. She was able to work under the direction of Nadia Potts, Vicky St. Deny, Tanya Evidente, Karen Duplisea, Kenny Pearl, and began taking acting, and vocal lessons. Her time at Toronto Metropolitan allowed her to refine her technique and evolve herself into a multi-fasciated performer.
Since 2015, Laura has been travelling the world led by her passion for performing. She performed in Doha, Qatar during the festival of Eid as an ensemble member in Alice in Wonderland, completed 2 contracts as a dancer/aerialist with Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL), and spent three years working at Tokyo Disney Resort.
On her second contract with NCL, Laura had the honour of working with Tony nominated choreographer Lynne Taylor Corbett, and was chosen as the ballet feature of the show SWING! The Musical. She loved the challenging partner work and energy that swing dance required. Her time at NCL also allowed her to gain some basic aerial training in hoop, silks, bungee, and Spanish web.
In 2017, Laura was cast as the principle aerialist in King Triton’s Concert in Tokyo Disney Sea. Working for Disney had always been a dream of hers and that dream had finally come true. She spent a year flying over audiences in a 2 point harness, while interacting with some of her favourite under the sea friends. She then went on to perform in the closing cast of One Man’s Dream II The Magic Lives On, in Tokyo Disneyland.
Laura now has a new dream. A dream to seek out new challenges in the entertainment industry. She aspires to uplift audiences everywhere, and continue to tell stories through movement.
