Kevin Tookey’s career in dance spans the globe and more than a dozen years as a choreographer, performer and teacher. Over the years Kevin has performed professionally in nearly every genre. His talent has taken him from the studio to the stage, from TV to the big screen. He has been blessed to work along side of some of the best talent in the business including Debbie Allen, Alan Cumming, Alfred Molina, Sarah Jessica Parker, Eric Idle, Suzie McNeil, Liza Minnelli, James Taylor, Geena Davis and pop star Ciara.

Originally from Edmonton, Kevin studied dance from the age of five with his Mom, Shelley Tookey, at the acclaimed studio Shelley’s Dance Company. Upon further training in Vancouver and Los Angeles, he moved to New York to dance for Jazz Dance America, as a soloist for the company. Over the next few years, his unique, multidisciplinary talent brought him to Florida, Toronto, China, Japan and back to Vancouver dancing for such companies as Carolina Ballet, Ontario Ballet Theatre and Fusion Dance Company.

Kevin’s TV and industrial credits include the CW’s Hellcats, and live events for Porsche, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Wells Fargo, The Brick, Nintendo, Safeway, General Motors, Volkswagen and Disney. His feature film credits include Reefer Madness with Kristen Bell and Neve Campbell, and Hot Rod starring Andy Samberg and Sissy Spacek. He was also Dance Captain for the Broadway review “Encore!” at the Tokyo DisneySea Resort, in Tokyo, Japan.

Recent credits also include So You Think You Can Dance Canada and U.S, The Helix Dance Project and The New Works Festival in Steamboat Springs, Colorado with acclaimed choreographer Peter Chu.

As a choreographer, Kevin is in demand across the country. He has co-directed the Source Dance Company in Vancouver BC for several seasons, and his choreography has been featured in The Feats Festival of Dance. Recently, Kevin choreographed an all new, critically acclaimed production of Grease! for Stanley Park’s Theatre Under the Stars which earned him an Ovation Award nomination. He can be seen on faculty with some of Canada’s largest conventions and festivals; Groove Street Productions, B.C. Provincials, Dance Power Championships to name a few.

Kevin’s creativity, dedication and energy keep him in great demand as a performer, choreographer, dance educator and adjudicator across the country.
