Karen has over 40 years of professional acting and singing experience. She started her career as a member of the English Theatre Company at The National Arts Centre and was also a member of the Stratford Festival for 8 seasons. She appeared on Broadway and at Londonʼs Old Vic as Pitti Sing in The Mikado.

She has also been a member of the Shaw Festival Ensemble for 10 seasons and has worked extensively in many major theatres across Canada and even at The Bermuda Festival. Karen is an instructor as well and has taught at Sheridan College, The Randolph Academy of Performing Arts and at the Centre for Opera Studies in Sulmona, Italy.

Karen received a Theatre Ontario Professional Training grant to study direction with her mentor, the late Neil Munro, former resident director of The Shaw Festival.
