In addition to live performance John recently lent his voice to the soundtrack recording for the hit Toronto Musical Funny Business – the Musical singing the title track ‘Bottom Line’ (Good Company Entertainment).

Born to a family of musicians, John truly fell in love with performing at the age of 12 when, for a school project, he was fortunate enough to job shadow his godfather Timothy Stiff, a Toronto Performer, backstage at Livent’s production of The Phantom of the Opera. Soon after this life altering experience he began vocal training with his godfather and started performing in numerous community theatre productions and show choirs in and around his hometown of Kitchener, Ontario. John attended an arts high school where he was further immersed in theatre arts, majoring in acting and vocal performance. John continued his vocal training with Mr. Andre Clouthier. He was soon offered a weekly role performing in a small Toronto production called ‘I Decide’ .While commuting from Kitchener to Toronto to be in this Show, John began auditioning for post-secondary arts programs, accepting admission into The Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. At Randolph John was privileged to work with amazing industry professionals on all levels of triple threat performance. Since then, John has gone on to work in some fantastic Toronto productions while continuing his training with his vocal teacher and mentor Mr. Jeffrey Huard. He also continues to train professionally in various workshops and classes throughout the city. John is so thankful to his family and friends for their everlasting support and encouragement. John is blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and work with such an amazing group of artists and mentors throughout his life, and looks forward to only growing more as a professional artist in the future with his da Costa family.
