““Southern Ontario Lyric Opera As the title character, baritone Jeffrey Carl effectively embodied the tortured soul of an insanely possessive father. Demonstrating a powerful and emotive voice throughout the entire opera, Carl’s wonderfully expressive eyes and demonstrative skilled gestures added to the pathos of his character.””
– Dawn Martin ‘OPERA CANADA Review RIGOLETTO ‘

This Toronto born opera singer and actor has appeared in lead roles on stage in over 20 countries on three continents. He has a fluid command of over 6 languages and has benefitted from working with some of the top international stage directors.

He has appeared on CBC, BBC, RAI2, O Globo and 3Sud television and has spent half his life living in London, UK.

He started as an orchestral soloist (all woodwinds) and played jazz which led him to the world of singing and stage. His first stage experience at the age of 14 was singing Big Deal/Tony in West Side Story.

He is now in the top of his category as a trained Verdi baritone/tenor with a three octave range, and is on 4 record labels. He has shared the stage with the likes of Pavarotti and Glenda Jackson.

The widely varied performance skills acquired over these years and his recent voice over training with Christian Potenza and acting with Brenda Kamino, have finally enabled him to realize his lifelong dream of being in film, television and voice work.

He received a taste of this world in the UK where he sang soundtracks for Al Pacino and Geena Davis.

In the last 5 months, he has just appeared in the films, Metamorphosis Revisited, Purgatory, Feeling Fine, Remembering You, Inside Schrodinger’s Box, and as Prof. Kenneth Morris in an ongoing Podcast Series Y2K Redux.
