Jayda is an extremely versatile, Vancouver born performer, who is proud of her mixed Chinese Caucasian roots. She has been a passionate dancer and performer since she started her first creative movement class at the age of three. By the age of 10, she was training in many disciplines of dance including hip hop, jazz, acro, tap, ballet, and modern. As she matured, she
continued to add to her skill set, with vocal training from musical director Wendy Stuart, as well as acting coaching from Carole Tarlington, Julian LeBlanc and Dolores Drake. Her credits include several short films, commercials, and a guest star role on the The Whispers (ABC).

Recognized for her strong vocals and stage presence, by the age of 14, Jayda had already appeared in several Theatre Under the Stars musical productions including Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and Mamma Mia where she received the Grace Macdonald Award for Most Promising Dancer. Presently, you may find Jayda singing around Vancouver as a member of Perry Ehrlich’s Showstoppers. As well, she is a member of Rachael Poirier’s award winning House Lab Dance Company.

Lately, Jayda has been intensely training in classical ballet at the distinguished Goh Ballet Academy where has performed in 3 productions of Goh Ballet’s Nutcracker, currently landing the role of Snow Queen. Her unique style, artistry, and outstanding technique has led to many recent local and international accomplishments, some of which include BC Provincial Performing Arts Modern Runner-up, award winner at the Ballet Vienna Grand Prix, BC Synergy Provincial Teen Dance Champion, NYCDA Outstanding Dancer, and Senior Breakout Artist at NUVO dance convention.

Known for her performance quality, versatility, and strong work ethic, Jayda is constantly seeking a new challenge. When she isn’t dancing, singing, or acting, you can find her striving for academic excellence at Eric Hamber Secondary in Vancouver. She also loves to dabble in choreography, photography, visual arts, baking and is now learning to play piano.
