Jak Barradell
Actor, Singer, Dancer, Voice Over Actor
“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”
– Robin Williams

Jak Barradell is a triple threat from Northern British Columbia. When he was young he discovered that his true passion lies in entertainment and he began singing, dancing and acting at a very early age. Since then Jak has been able to carve out a niche for himself as a “Remarkably springy individual and charming character actor rolled into one”.

Booking his first professional gig right before graduating high school, Jak worked and traveled extensively with Cunard, Celebrity and NYK cruise lines, singing and dancing his way to over 70 different countries. Jak has also worked for Disney Cruise Line as a singer/dancer/actor, and performed at the 2010 Olympics and the 2015 PanAm Games ceremonies. While attending Capilano University’s Musical Theatre program in North Vancouver, Jak made his professional theatre debut with the Arts Club Theatre Company as ‘Luke’ in Altar Boyz (2009 & 2012), which was such a hit it was brought back for a second run! Other theatre credits include ‘Neleus’ in Mary Poppins (Citadel/Theatre Calgary/YPT Toronto/Grand), the 2017 North American tour of Saturday Night Fever in role of Joey, as well as a 2 week stint playing Bobby (Northcore Productions), Semele (Canadian Opera Co/Brooklyn Academy of Music), Falstaff, Maometto II (Canadian Opera Company), Mamma Mia! And Anne of Green Gables (Charlottetown Festival), Swing! (Gravenhurst Opera House), West Side Story (Rainbow Stage), Cabaret (Manitoba Theatre Company), Cats, Anne Of Green Gables (Theatre Calgary), Hairspray, White Christmas, Mary Poppins (Arts Club), ‘Al DeLuca’ in A Chorus Line (RCMT), ‘Willard’ in Footloose (Exit 22), and ‘Agwe’ in Once On This Island (Arbutus Studio).

Jak has also worked on various film and TV projects throughout his career, as a principal actor, dancer, and choreographer, working with the likes of Dove Cameron, Keegan Michael Key, Cecily Strong, Jane Krakowski, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, and Fred Armisen, on shows like Schmigadoon!, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Recipe to Riches, Forbidden: Dying for love, The Romanoffs, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Hallmark Channel movie of the week A Nutcracker Christmas.

Jak has always daydreamed about bringing back the original movie musicals of the 40’s and 50’s, reminiscent of Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire and his personal favourite Donald O’Connor, and bringing a comedic Jackie Chan style martial arts edge to these singing dancing leading roles. When he’s not singing, dancing or acting, Jak can be found studying various martial arts, playing and writing songs on the guitar, or snowboarding and skateboarding his cares away.
