“I don’t have a process; I just feel it. My book on acting would be very short.”
-Olivia Colman

Emily Robertson (she/her) is a proud Bluenoser, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a trained performer since she was a child, Emily has spent most of her life on stage, singing, acting, dancing, and telling stories. She currently lives in Toronto, as a 2018 Graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program.

Emily made her TV debut when she was 16 years old, on CBC’s Over the Rainbow as a Top 20 Dorothy finalist. Since then, she made her professional theatre debut as “Beilke” in Fiddler on the Roof (Capitol Theatre, Port Hope) and then shortly after as “Anne Shirley” in Anne of Green Gables (Thousand Islands Playhouse, Gananoque) Emily has gone on to be a part of two Smile Theatre Touring productions (Toronto), as “Anne Shirley” in Lucy Maud, and Anne and “Suzie” in At the Hop.

Upon graduating Sheridan College, Emily decided to move to Shanghai, China, to work with iMusical Theatre School. While she was there, Emily had the opportunity to teach Tap and Jazz classes (for all ages – including Adult to Senior beginners), Acting/Scene Study classes, English/Grammar classes, and became the Choreographer and Production Manager of the program. It was an adventure she will keep with her for a lifetime.

Now that she is back in Canada, Emily has continued to teach Music Theatre, Voice and Dance to children and young adults with Spotlight Academy (Toronto.) and to aspiring Theatre School Graduates online with Arts Tai School (Taiwan.) Emily genuinely loves being a part of Toronto’s Performing Arts community and is eager to continue to find ways to tell stories – whether it be on stage, or on screen.
