Elise Melo is an actor, dancer, choreographer and instructor whose versatility has brought her passion to life. Trained in Jazz, Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet and Musical Theatre, this upcoming artist loves all styles of dance, with a strength in commercial styles. Her career took off after graduating from Langley Fine Arts Highschool as a dance major. She moved down to Los Angeles where she was awarded a dance scholarship to train with the top choreographers at the prestigious Debbie Reynolds Studio.
Since then, Elise’s dedication has led her all over the world training in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and her hometown of Vancouver. She is a graduate of the Pre-Professional dance company “The Source” where she trained and performed for two years touring with productions West Side Stories, and Zig or Zag. Elise has performed in Kaboom National Exhibition, Viva Las Vegas, Cascades Casino Review, and Tropical Explosions. Her film and television credits include music videos for Michael Buble, Ray J and Jah Fus, and 16mm, feature films “Lost and Found” and “Ragz” – a TV movie for Nickelodeon. One of Elise’s career highlights has been a faculty assistant for Groove Street Productions for five seasons, where she has worked closely with top choreographers in the industry- Luther Brown, Sho-Tyme, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Gus Bembery. She is also a choreographer and guest instructor for many studios around the lower mainland.
Elise is well rounded and versatile, and her passion for dance shows through in all of her work. Her natural performance skills have most recently led her to branch into the world of acting, where she continues to train and study.
