Dena Chiarcossi
Actor, Singer
ACTRA | CAEA
“Eva Perón must have been “looking down” when they dropped Dena Chiarcossi into my lap as Evita. She is the closest to Patti LuPone (who won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as the title character) he has ever seen.”
– Michael Lichefeld, Broadway Director/Choreographer

Dena Chiarcossi sings, dances, and acts – and makes it look easy. It’s not. Of the three disciplines, she says the singing comes most naturally. The acting is an endless, and endlessly rewarding, challenge. And, incredibly enough, she didn’t start dancing until she was 18. Dena was always going to be in the entertainment industry and has wanted to be onstage since she was a kid.

Recent credits include the leading roles of Eva Peron in Evita and Sharpay Evans in High School Musical (Drayton Entertainment) and Janet Weiss in the Rocky Horror Show (Theatre New Brunswick). Other theatre credits include Miss Saigon, Fiddler On The Roof, and Rocky Horror (for CanStage).

Dena has also had success on camera with a lead role in YTV’s movie “King of The Camp” and a featured role in Repo: The Genetic Opera.

Dena would have to say that her most memorable job in the industry was aboard Disney Cruise Lines, where she met her future husband and love of her life, Michael

Dena also has interests in design and event planning which allow her to channel her creativity away from the entertainment industry. She has a year of Interior Design from Ryerson University and recently completed an apprenticeship with Prototype Design Lab. She finished with a very successful solo project. Dena also freelances with a company called The Idea Shop. They are an event company, and she has worked on more than half a dozen wedding in the last few months.
