Dedra McDermott is an emerging artist based in Toronto. In recent years, she has diversified her performance scope to explore theatre, film and television; including credits such as Disney’s “Zombies”, Royal Caribbean Productions, fu-GEN Theatre, Rodney Diverlus, Jasmyn Fyffe Dance, and “American Gods” on Starz Network.

In addition to performing, Dedra is currently embarking on a new journey as an emerging Dramaturg. Through dramaturgy, she intends to serve her community; to facilitate conversations and stimulate creative spaces for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour) stories to be shared by providing creative sanctuary for underrepresented artists.

In the Fall of 2019, Dedra will be continuing her education at The University of Toronto, pursuing a Master’s Degree at The Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies.
