David Assinewai

David hails from the Odawa (Anishinaabe) community of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. He is a multi-talented individual, specializing in acting, storytelling, and stunt performance, all while being deeply committed to decolonizing his lifestyle through the revival of traditional practices.

With a strong foundation in Improvisational Acting at Level III, David honed his skills under the tutelage of the esteemed Debajehmujig Theatre Group, a renowned First Nation Theatre Company situated on Manitoulin Island. This training has provided him with a rich and diverse theatrical background.

David’s aspirations reach beyond traditional acting, as he harbours a strong desire to excel in the domain of Stunt Acting and Performance. To achieve this goal, he frequently dedicates his time to attending workshops and enhancing his repertoire as a stunt performer. David’s determination and dedication make him a rising star in the world of entertainment, with a bright future ahead.
