CAEA
“Chelsey possesses a phenomenal voice of amazing strength, flexibility and stamina. Her vocal prowess is extraordinary and inimitable – equally at home in music theatre, pop, country and classical genres – she can sing anything and everything. It’s quite astounding!”
– Gail Hakala, Voice Instructor

Chelsey Duplak once belted a song so hard she fainted. Luckily, no one was watching… except for the entire audience. Since then, she’s learned to stay conscious and has performed such roles as “Dorothy” in The Wizard of Oz, “June Carter Cash” in Johnny & June: A Love Story and “Hermia” in The Dream. An actor, singer, dancer, Chelsey has also been host of a rock concert for kids, seen the serene waters of Curacao while performing on a cruise ship and wore three pounds of black eyeliner playing a sullen teenager.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Chelsey grew up listening to her mother play the piano that was a “baby” present from her dad when she was six weeks old. It was in music that Chelsey found the place where she can embody an energy bigger than herself. Whether in a soft, whispered plea or a “balls-to-the-wall” belt, Chelsey relishes every opportunity to “be” the music and translate an experience for the audience.

Chelsey attended the Theatre and Drama program at the University of Winnipeg and graduated with Honors from Sheridan College, where she also received the Christopher Award for her achievement in acting. Now calling Toronto home, when not on stage, Chelsey can be found jogging or developing thumb arthritis as she is a closet video game fanatic. She looks forward to continuing this amazing, crazy journey, one show at a time.
