Carla Bennett

Born in Hong Kong, Carla considers herself a Toronto native having grown up here most of her life. She has trained across the continent including the prestigious Toronto Arts school, Claude Watson School for the Arts, and the Harvard University dance program.

Her stage career led her to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival for seven seasons (Spamalot, Wendy and Peter, Carousel, The Adventures of Pericles, Crazy for You, A Midsummer Nights Dream, 42nd Street, Much Ado About Nothing, West Side Story, A Funny…. Forum, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, The King and I), two seasons as a choreographer (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Adventures of Pericles) and teaches for their education department in Canada and the Unites States.

As an accomplished actor, dancer, choreographer and educator she has enjoyed working with artists of all ages. Carla’s choreography can also be seen in the tv series Man Seeking Woman, and assistant choreography in feature film Pacific Rim, Degrassi: Next Class and the Emmy nominated film Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas. Other theatre credits include Holiday Inn (Shaw), Return to Grace, A Funny… Forum (Mirvish), and multiple seasons at Drayton Entertainment, Theatre Aquarius and Neptune theatre.
