With “a flexibility and range that are remarkable for her age,” (Greater Hamilton Musician), Alyssa DiMarco is a talented up-and-coming Canadian performer. With diverse musical performance experience in concert, opera, music theatre, and jazz, Miss DiMarco has performed with the Toronto Concert Orchestra, Tafelmusik, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, the Rose Orchestra of Brampton, and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. As an actress, Alyssa has been seen on television in American Lawmen, Motives and Murders, and as a competitor on CBC’s Triple Sensation, and Over the Rainbow, and is featured as Selena Gomez in MUCH’s Collision Course. In 2018 she will be seen in the third season of Forbidden: Dying for Love, Bizarre Murders, and Cold Valley, and will be heard as a voiceover artist on the animated show Star & Kobe. She has also filmed national commercials for Microsoft, Lenovo, and Cineplex, and completed a publicity tour for Microsoft Canada.

Alyssa is at home in the recording studio and has recorded vocals on tracks by Canadian recording artist SonReal, and Classified. She also originated the roles of Luanda and Heather the Hysterical Harp on the recording of Canadian composer William Lavigne’s new musical Jack & the Beanstalk. Additionally, she is heard on the Bass School of Music’s commercial recording of the Berlioz Requiem.

Alyssa has also starred in several solo performances at venues such as the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, the Gladstone Hotel, and Casa Loma where she performed favourites from the twenties and thirties with orchestra led by Kerry Stratton, featuring the music of Kurt Weill, Cole Porter and George Gershwin.

Most recently, Alyssa’s 2017 season included performances of Polly in The Threepenny Opera by Kurt Weill, a solo debut with the Toronto Concert Orchestra for their Symphony in the Gardens series, and singing as the soprano soloist in Faure’s Requiem with the Rose Orchestra.

She has been featured in two productions awarded first place in the National Opera Association of America’s Opera Production Competition, as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Oklahoma City University, 2013) and Nella in Gianni Schicchi (OCU, 2011), subsequently leading to the productions being featured in Opera News. Alyssa was in the Oklahoma Premiere of Leonard Bernstein’s Mass and Adam Guettel’s The Light in the Piazza, which toured to Arkansas.

Alyssa graduated from Oklahoma City University’s renowned Opera and Music Theater program where she studied under the guidance of Dr. David Herendeen. In Oklahoma she was featured as Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Maria in West Side Story, Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Chorus in Children of Eden. She also holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, where she studied with Dr. Darryl Edwards. Alyssa has sung in masterclasses with acclaimed Metropolitan Opera sopranos Rita Shane, Mary Jane Johnson and Sarah Coburn.

She also finds joy in singing for those in palliative care, performing solo recitals at hospices in the GTA. Alyssa works for Fantasy Fables Children’s Entertainment, a Disney-sanctioned company where she plays the roles of Snow White, Elena of Avalor, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Princess Anna from Frozen. She loves making “dreams come true” with Fantasy Fables as the company provides the palliative care for SickKids Hospital and Make a Wish Foundation in Toronto.
